Trauma and PTSD Therapy

When people go through overwhelming and traumatic experiences, they adapt. They develop ways of protecting themselves. Though once adaptive, these ways of protection can become patterns that are not as helpful outside of the traumatic event. The patterns can impact people’s sense of self, relationships, stress levels, sleep, and daily living.

I will partner with you in making meaning of events that are inherently meaningless, help give words to feelings that defy language, develop ways of coping from the most painful life circumstances, and tap into your resilience.

I have experience working with individuals of all ages affected by trauma. I utilize Relational Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, Attachment, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) techniques. In addition to these approaches, with young children I also incorporate Trauma Focused Play Therapy. Sessions are typically 45 minutes 1-2x per week.
